I have purchased two of these bags because I think they are the perfect small backpack. I have the one that is labeled black flower and the one that is black leather. I don't believe that it is really leather, but my purpose was to have a neutral black tote instead of the leather.I don't use my bags for lunch totes, though I feel certain that they function perfectly as an insulated tote bag. They are nice to look at and generous inside the main pouch. An 8 1/2 cup snapware container sits nicely in the bottom of the bag. This could easily accommodate an entree or salad. There's still plenty of room for some smaller containers, a can of soda/water bottle, and a banana or apple.For my purpose, these bags are a nice size backpack handbag. I love the zipper pouch on the front, which holds pens, lip balm, earbuds, stain stick, hand sanitizer spray, etc. There is plenty of room for all the tiny accouterments that I carry in my handbag. The zipper pocket on the back will hold a small external charger, a few glasses cleaning wipes, a small notepad, etc. I put the smaller things I lose in the bottom of my bag in the front pocket, and the flatter things in the zipper pocket on the back.Each side has a mesh pocket that is deep enough for a can of soda or a 16 oz water bottle. Since I carry a 16 oz insulated bottle or a 32 oz insulated filter water bottle, they do not fit well in the mesh pocket. I find I have enough room for the 16/18 oz insulated bottle inside my bag but not the 32 oz, which I just have to carry in my hand.I also have enough room inside the main part of the bag to carry an iPad, 11.6 inch laptop, or my 12.5 inch Microsoft Surface Tablet, a wireless mouse, and still have room for a few more things if needed.My major gripe about using this as a backpack was that the strap just slides through a plastic, pentagonal "buckle," so when I put the strap over my shoulder, all the slack would slide to the side I just tossed over my arm. However, I discovered a completely easy way to mitigate that! I folded the strap into half, pushed the folded half of the strap up through the plastic buckle and then dropped the straps inside the loop. This created a way to keep the straps evenly divided among the sides. Now my straps are always perfectly aligned, and this wonderful backpack is about half the size of my regular backpack and perfect for days when I need just a few things instead of a full office of things.The design is nice, as I truly love the way the bag unzips and fully opens so that I can see everything inside the bag. While its purpose may be a backpack lunch bag, it is just my little backpack. Someday, I may actually use it to carry a lunch!
